Crowns / Bridges / ImplantsCrowns
When one tooth is broken, severely damaged or decayed, a Crown is applied to strengthen or replace the tooth and improve the appearance of your smile.
The name of the procedure describes a hollow "crown" that fits over your tooth, in the same way that a crown fits over your head.
The procedure begins with the dentist removing the decayed or damaged areas of the tooth. The artificial crown is built around the remaining natural tooth in a shade and shape that matches and improves the appearance of the area.
Westcoast Smile uses only the highest quality, state of the art glass ceramics. You never have to worry that your new smile will grow gray at the gum line, like crown materials used in the past.
Bridge
If one or more teeth are missing, then Dr. Norden will build a bridge of natural looking teeth to fill the gap.
The procedure includes building crowns on the teeth on either side of the gap where the tooth or teeth are missing. The crowns on the natural teeth create a strong, custom fitted bridge and cannot be distinguished from real teeth.
Implants
Implants are an alternative to bridges when replacing missing teeth. This procedure is generally used when one tooth is missing. The dentist surgically implants a metal anchor to the jawbone, using metal posts, which mimic a natural tooth's root structure. A natural looking replacement tooth is held by the anchor. Implants are a permanent solution to the problem of missing teeth.
