I walked into my dental office last week after attending a meeting, I was told that everyone in the waiting room was waiting for me and very grumpy. Apparently, my staff thought I would be back earlier and had mistakenly booked appointments. Yes friends and patients it’s that time of year when we are all ticked, grumpy, tired, sick, irritable, and did I mention impatient. The sun says adios to us here in the northern hemisphere and hightails it to Chile, Brazil, and South Africa, we are all left here to put on our hats, gloves, boots and blend into Vancouver’s numerous shades of grey.
Here in Vancouver, we live in one of the most diverse communities in the world. There are many religious traditions practiced here, all with different customs and rituals but almost all of us regardless of our backgrounds are able to share in the spirit of the Christmas season. Perhaps this date of December 25th was chosen purposely, as it represents to almost everyone in the northern part of our globe the winter solstice. I wait out this darkness eagerly until Dec 22, the shortest day; every year because I finally get to add about 2minutes of daylight to each day forward and that makes waking up a whole lot easier for me……..
2014, has been a special year at WestcoastSmile Dental Studio. By the time you read this blog, Danielle our manager will have given birth to her second child a baby girl. We will miss Danielle as she takes care of her new baby and wish her family all the best. We welcome Pearl to our office to keep things humming. Pearl has many years of experience running the office of a local dental specialist and as an added bonus to our team she is an unbelievable baker, so if you see our team gaining a bit of weight you will know why.
Danielle, Jas, Jennie, Jody, Pearl, Simone, and I wish all of our friends and patients a happy, safe holiday season and Happy New Year, see you in 2015.
