Porcelain Veneers in Kitsilano

Some people call it “Cosmetic Dentistry” but we believe we are helping people feel better about themselves by designing beautiful smiles. Restoring, self-confidence almost always seems more important than applying just some ‘cosmetic procedure.’

  • There is no reason to keep feeling discouraged because you have discolored or worn down teeth.
  • There is no need to panic when you chip or break a tooth (or teeth).
  • There is absolutely no reason to stress over misaligned or uneven teeth.
  • Teeth with gaps or irregularly shaped teeth are not the end of the world.

Why?

Because all of these problems, and many others, can be easily addressed by applying dental veneers at Westcoast Smile. If you are confronting any of these, or other problems that could be addressed with teeth veneers, call Dr. David Cheng or Dr. Jeffrey Norden. Dentists at Westcoast Smile Dental Clinic and their staff specialize in providing veneers for any of their clients that need them throughout Vancouver and Canada. Let us help you improve your smile!

What Are Dental Veneers?

Many people wonder, what are veneers for your teeth? Porcelain veneers, like the ones that we use in our office in Kitsilano, are very thin custom-made shells designed to perfectly cover the surface of your teeth in a way that improves how they look. Dental veneers can be used to change the color, size, shape, or even the length of your teeth. Porcelain veneers are the more permanent and durable alternative to composite resin bonding.

Veneers are designed to provide a natural appearance and enhance your smile, which in return can help you regain confidence.

How are Dental Veneers applied?

The dental professionals at Westcoast Smile use a two-step procedure for applying porcelain veneers in Kitsilano. On your first visit, Dr. Cheng or Dr. Norden will remove a thin layer of enamel and take impressions so that veneers can be created that will bond perfectly to address the problems you want to correct.

On the second visit, Dr. Cheng or Dr. Norden will etch your teeth’s surface with a mild acid and then apply a bonding agent. Your custom veneers will then be applied and held fast by the bonding agent. Veneers are long lasting (as long as you maintain good oral hygiene and keep up a regular schedule of professional cleanings.)

It is possible that your teeth could increase in sensitivity as a result of the procedure.

When are veneers not the right solution for our patients?

Veneers are generally not a good solution for people with tooth decay, gum disease, or for people who grind their teeth. Veneers are also a poor solution for people with weakened teeth or with low-enamel levels.
