Smile Makeovers with Veneers
A brilliant smile has the power to light up a whole room. It inspires confidence, draws people in, and gives others a reason to smile as well. If you’re looking to enhance your teeth and put your best face forward, then porcelain veneers may be the right option for you. Dr. Norden and the entire team at WestcoastSmile Dental Studio and Whitening Spa are pleased to welcome you and introduce to the wonderful world of porcelain veneers. Give your smile a makeover today!
What are Porcelain Veneers?
Simply put, porcelain veneers are “shells” that are designed to fit over your natural teeth, and improve the way they look. Veneers are composed of very thin material and are custom-made to fit each tooth perfectly. They’re an incredibly versatile tool when it comes to smile makeovers, and can be used to change the colour, shape, size, and length of your teeth. Due to the highly customized nature of porcelain veneers, they’re often indistinguishable from natural teeth, which makes them a top choice for people seeking dental restoration. They’re durable, too. Thanks to the non-porous nature of the material, dental veneers are more resistant to staining and cavities than natural teeth, so they’re a low-maintenance way to flash that high-wattage smile.
How are Porcelain Veneers Applied?
At WestcoastSmile Dental, Dr. Norden applies porcelain veneers using a simple, two-step process. The first visit is when all the preparation takes place, and the plans for your smile makeover are formed. First, a thin layer of enamel is removed from your teeth, and dental impressions are taken. This allows us to custom-create your veneers to address any specific issues. Once the veneers are created, you’ll come in for a second visit. During this visit, the surface of your teeth will be etched with a mild acid, and a bonding agent applied. The custom veneers are placed onto the bonding agent, and you’re finished! One brilliant smile restored.
What Else Do I Need to Know?
Porcelain veneers are designed to help a wide range of people. However, they’re not the best solution for everyone. Patients who grind their teeth, or who have tooth decay or gum disease should consider other restoration options. It’s also important to note that patients who have had veneers applied may notice an increase in tooth sensitivity.
